Tina is of Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Ngai Tāmanuhiri, Rongomaiwahine, and Ngāti Rakaipaaka descent. She founded Poipoia, a kaupapa Māori consultancy dedicated to providing environmental services to iwi, hapu, and both the public and private sectors. In 2016, Tina was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her service to Māori and the environment, and she won a Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award in 2015. Tina holds board governance positions with the Lake Taupo Forest Trust, Ngāti Porou Forests, Pahiatua Incorporation, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation. She is based in Wellington. Poipoia has an ever-growing team of experienced practitioners and technicians in the field of resource management from across the regions.
